Community Lunch

We offer a sit-down meal and fellowship to our community and congregation on the first Saturday each month in the Family Life Center. In addition, take home meals are available to guests and deliveries are coordinated for homebound members. Volunteers are key to this program.

Redeemer’s monthly Community Lunch is open to all. The home cooked lunch menu changes monthly, and is free of charge. It includes a main course, sides and dessert. Enjoy the fellowship and friendship that comes from sharing a meal together. Community lunch is held on the first Saturday of every month in the Family Life Center, beginning at 11:30, and ending at 1. If you can’t stay for the lunch, we can pack a ‘to-go’ box for you, and we are happy to deliver to those who are homebound.

This meal could not be provided without our volunteers who so generously give their time and cooking and baking talents. We are always looking for new volunteers to join the team. For more information, contact the church office at 330.923.1445

Music Ministry

The music ministry offers opportunities for vocalists, musicians, choirs, and other special music.

We welcome anyone interested in joining a choir, singing, or playing an instrument. The choirs that currently serve are:

· Redeemer Choir – sings primarily at the Sunday 8:30 am service providing anthems and worship leadership
· Worship Team – sings primarily at the Sunday 11:15 am service leading music through vocals and instrumentals
· Hand bell Choir – plays primarily at the Sunday 8:30 and 11:15 am services providing anthems and accompaniment for worship.

There is also the opportunity for special music performed by soloists, duets or small groups. For more information, Contact Lisa Burnside.

Noon Circle

The Noon Circle is a group of women who meet the third Monday of the month to share a brown bag lunch, fellowship and mission-minded service projects.

We welcome all women to join us at noon on the third Monday of the month (we take a Summer break during June-July and August). Bring a lunch, enjoy fun conversation and join us in projects that benefit the community.

Projects we’ve worked on in the past include making no-sew blankets and burp cloths for clients of Akron Pregnancy services, stuffing envelopes for mailings and dog bed liners for Paws & Prayers. At Easter and Christmas we make and pack cookies and treats for our homebound members, and at the conclusion of the school year, we make a ‘little something’ for the school staff.

Consider joining us! We typically meet in the conference room.

Redeemer Women in Mission

As Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML Church society), we joyfully proclaim Christ, support missions, and equip women to honor God by serving others.

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is an official auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Since 1942, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.

The LWML is the leading group for LCMS women where each woman is welcomed and encouraged to use her unique God-given gifts as she supports global missions and serves the Lord with gladness.

To learn more or participate in one of our service activities watch weekly News & Notes (bulletin) or call the church office at 330.923.1145. LWML website.

Outreach Team

The outreach team offers opportunities to engage in projects and programs focused on serving the community.

Opportunities to serve abound in the activities of the Outreach ministry team. We coordinate ‘drives’ to benefit those in need during times of crisis (natural disasters) as well as in support of local non-profits.

Each December, we have our Angel Breakfast in our Family Life Center. Details on this event can be found in our event section on the website. During the summer months, we offer man-power to help with needed maintenance for those in need. Power washing, mulching and weed patrol are all part of the work we do. This team is powered by volunteers! For more information, contact Jon McMannis 330.603.2826.

Community Prayer Walks

Homebound Ministry Team

We minister to homebound members through visitation and other means, sharing devotions, communication, and communion.

If you have a heart for serving others, this is the perfect way to get involved. Spending quality time on a regular basis with our members who are unable to worship with us on a regular basis due to age, illness or lack of transportation is at the heart of serving our fellow Christians. In addition, this group coordinated Easter and Christmas cookie and treat delivery. For more information, contact Lynn Steffey 330.819.9240.

Kitchen Ministry Team

We plan, coordinate, and carry out the complete kitchen ministry. We host events and help facilitate events and activities that use the kitchen. Volunteers are always needed.

Bakers, cooks and anyone who loves spending time in the kitchen – this is the team for you. This group prepared the food for all church-related events, in particular the midweek meals during Lent and Advent. To learn more, contact Lee Hamill 330.815.0984.
